Volunteering & Fundraising
The Port Credit Skating Club is a volunteer-run organization, which depends on the volunteer assistance of its members to function successfully. Volunteers are essential to maintaining and growing the Port Credit Skating Club and ensuring all of our children have a safe and enjoyable time while skating.
The time commitment is not unreasonable and the help will also enable us to keep the costs of the programs at a level that is accessible to more children.
Participation in the Volunteer Program is a mandatory component of registration with the Port Credit Skating Club for any program above CanSkate (i.e. JumpStart, Junior Development, Development, Pre-Competitive, Competitive, Senior, and Advanced Senior).
Volunteer Hours Required
A minimum number of hours of PCSC Approved volunteer work is required to fulfill each family’s Volunteer obligations per season. There are many opportunities to volunteer throughout the season.
JumpStart/Junior Development: 4 hours/family
Development/Pre-Competitive/Competitive/Senior/Advanced Senior: 10 hours/family
Value of Volunteer Program to the PCSC
$120 per family JumpStart/Junior Development
Reporting Responsibility
IT IS EACH FAMILY’S OWN RESPONSIBILITY TO MEET THE VOLUNTEER PROGRAM COMMITMENT AND ENSURE THAT THIER H0URS ARE REPORTED.

Fundraising
Port Credit Skating Club supports special programs and off-sets ice fees through fundraising.
The Fundraising Fee meets only part of the additional costs to run the club and any special events offered to our skaters and their families.
Fundraising fee, for all full-year program registrations: purchase of chocolates for $90 and resell them, thus recouping all of your fees. or a "buyout" of $60 -This means you simply pay that fee.
Other fundraising supported by the club includes Bingo.
As a registered charity with the City of Mississauga we are eligible to provide people to assist with running bingo sessions at the Dixie Delta Bingo twice monthly. We currently have a dedicated team who have volunteered their time for the past year.
We are currently looking for a few additional people to develop a 2nd volunteer team or individuals who can fill in when a team member is ill.
