PCSC Volunteer Policy
The Port Credit Skating Club is a volunteer-run organization, which depends on the volunteer assistance of its members to function successfully. Volunteers are essential to maintaining and growing the Port Credit Skating Club and ensuring all of our children have a safe and enjoyable time while skating.
The time commitment is not unreasonable and the help will also enable us to keep the costs of the programs at a level that is accessible to more children.
Participation in the Volunteer Program is a mandatory component of registration with the Port Credit Skating Club for any program above CanSkate (i.e. JumpStart, Junior Development, Development, Pre-Competitive, Competitive, Senior, and Advanced Senior).
Volunteer Hours Required
A minimum number of hours of PCSC Approved volunteer work is required to fulfill each family’s Volunteer obligations per season. There are many opportunities to volunteer throughout the season.
- JumpStart/Junior Development: 4 hours/family
- Development/Pre-Competitive/Competitive/Senior/Advanced Senior: 8 hours/family
Value of Volunteer Program
$120 per family JumpStart/Junior Development
$200 per family Development/Pre-Competitive/Competitive/Senior/Advanced Senior
Submitting the Volunteer Program “PAD”
A post-dated volunteer cheque/money order will be collected from each qualifying family by Sept 30th. In the event that a family does not complete their volunteer commitments, the deposit cheque(s) will be cashed.
IT IS EACH FAMILY’S OWN RESPONSIBILITY TO MEET THE VOLUNTEER PROGRAM COMMITMENT AND ENSURE THAT THIER H0URS ARE REPORTED TO THE CLUB VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR.
